     Sverre Julius Olausen AUNE was Obituary Sverre Aune er gått bort

     Atter er en av de store kjemper i norsk og trøndersk idrett gått bort. Sverre Aune døde

Lørdag etter lengere tids sykdom. 2. Januar fylte Aune 71 år. Han var nå pensjonist etter at

han hadde vært ansatt i Postverket i over 50 år, den siste tid som overpakkmester på

Dovrebanen.

     Aune feiret store triumfer som skøyteløper og som sykkelrytter. Han erobret NM og

Kongepokal på 10 mil landeveisritt, og tok dessuten 2 NM på bane, men hans største innsats

som pedaltråkker var likeval 3. Plassen i Nordisk mesterkap over 20 mil i Københaven i 1919.

     Som skøyteløper var Aune først og fremst en langdistanseekspert. Men han var også

så høyt oppe som 2. mann i NM i 1915 og -16. Han hadde løpsseire i fiere mesterskap,

bl.a. vant han både 5000 og 10000 foran selveste Oscar Mathisen under NM i Kristiania i 1915.

Aune satte også en gang verdensrekord på 5000, men tiden ble ikke godkjent da det var

klubbløp.

     Avdøde fungerte som banemester på Trondheim Stadion (Skøitebanen) ved siden av

at han var aktiv utøver og hadde full jobb i Postverket. Det hendte ofte at Aune var i aksjon

med sprøyting eller brøyting av banen om natten, arbeidet så hele dagen, for å delta i løp

om kvelden. Sammen med sin familie bodde Aune i en årrekke på Skøyteklubbens eiendom,

Kveldshvile, og han fungerte en tid også som restauratør på Stadion.

     Både Trondheims Skøteklub og Jarlen som han represenferte som sykkelrytter, hedret

Aune med æresmedlemskap. Han var meget benyttet i administrasjonen, bl.a. som formann

i TSK og som styremedlem i Skøyteforbundet.

     Med Sverre Aune bortgang har trødersk idrett mistet en av sine virkelig store sønner,

en idrettsmann av den gamle skole, et godt menneske. V.J.
