Edward H. Lowrie --Stewartville

STEWARTVILLE -- The funeral for Edward H. Lowrie of Stewartville will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville, with the Rev. Burton Hoag officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove Township.

Mr. Lowrie, 75, died Thursday (Nov. 9, 2000), of complications from Wegener's Disease at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Minneapolis.

He was born July 15, 1925, in Pleasant Grove Township. He served in the Navy during World War II. He married Adelyn Luther Olson on June 13, 1953, in Nashua, Iowa. He worked at Honeywell in Minneapolis for 30 years, then moved to a hobby farm near Hewitt, Minn., where he lived until moving to Stewartville in 1999. Mrs. Lowrie died in 1994.

Survivors include three stepsons, Jimmy, Charles and Robert Olson; two step-daughters, Donna Olson and Carol (Bill) Tilford, all of Rochester; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Thompson of Racine and Lorraine Hansen of Rochester; and a brother Levern (Patricia) of Pine Island.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home, and from 8 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.
